FAQs

How much does a cricket bat repair cost?

Costs depend on the type of damage and how much work is needed. The easiest way is to choose the closest repair service, or message us on WhatsApp with photos and we’ll point you to the right option before you book.

Can you repair a cracked toe or split edge?

Yes, in most cases. Toe and edge cracks are common and can often be repaired and reinforced so the bat is playable again. If the damage has spread deep into the blade or the wood is crushed, we’ll tell you honestly what’s realistic.

Do you offer bat repairs by post?

Yes. We offer UK-wide postal cricket bat repairs. You can book the repair service online and post the bat to us, or drop it off in Gloucester.

How do I package my bat for postage?

Use a bat box if you have one, or wrap the bat securely with cardboard and bubble wrap. Protect the toe and edges, then use a tracked service. Full guidance is on our Bat drop off information page.

Do I need to book and pay before sending my bat?

Yes, please book the closest repair option first. If you’re not sure which one to choose, message us on WhatsApp with photos and we’ll point you to the right service before you book.

What are your turnaround times?

Most repairs are typically turned around within 5–10 working days from when we receive the bat, depending on workload and the type of repair. In peak season turnaround can be longer. If you’ve got a match deadline, use the Emergency Repair option or message us first.

Can you repair handle rattles or a loose handle?

Yes. A rattle can sometimes be re-set, but if the handle is cracked, loose in the splice, or has snapped, it may need a full handle replacement. Send photos and we’ll advise the best route.

Can you repair shoulder cracks or weakness?

Yes, depending on severity. Shoulder damage can often be repaired and rebuilt to restore strength and shape. Send photos and we’ll confirm the best option.

Can you reduce the weight of my bat?

Yes. Weight reduction is possible, but it’s always done sensibly with balance and pick-up in mind. Send your current weight and what you’re aiming for, and we’ll tell you what’s realistic.

Do you repair bats that already have edge tape, fibreglass or an anti-scuff sheet on?

Yes. We’ll normally remove the old protection first so we can assess and repair the wood properly. Once the repair is completed, we fit a new anti-scuff sheet and re-protect the edge and toe as needed.

Can you repair face cracks, splitting or delamination?

In many cases, yes. Face cracking and delamination can often be stabilised and reinforced, depending on severity. Send photos and we’ll advise honestly.

What can’t be repaired?

Severe structural damage, badly rotten or water-swollen wood, and bats that have been heavily compromised across multiple areas may not be worth repairing. If you’re unsure, send photos and we’ll advise before you spend money.

Can you repair water damage or swollen wood?

Sometimes minor water exposure is recoverable, but swollen or softened wood is often a sign the bat’s structure has been compromised. Send photos and we’ll give an honest recommendation.

Will the bat feel the same after repair?

Our aim is to restore performance while keeping the bat’s shape and pick-up. Some repairs may add a small amount of material for strength, but we’ll always keep balance in mind and tell you what to expect.

Is my bat worth repairing?

If you’re unsure, send photos on WhatsApp first and we’ll give you honest advice. If the bat isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you upfront before you spend money.

Do you re-grip bats as part of a refurb?

Depending on the service chosen, grips can be replaced as part of the refurb or added as an extra. If you want a specific grip size or style, message us and we’ll confirm what’s best.

What should I do before booking a repair?

Send clear photos of the damage (toe, edges, face and shoulders) plus a quick note on what’s happened and any match deadlines. We’ll advise the best option.

What courier should I use and should it be insured?

Use a tracked service and package the bat securely. We recommend sending it tracked and insured for peace of mind.
